Because mason jars are transparent, I love having them to sort and store items such as:

• Push pins
• Paperclips
• Spare staples
• Pens and pencils
• Rulers
• Ideas and random thoughts (as an idea jar)
• Erasers
• Spare tape rolls
• Sticky notes
• Spare eating utensils

Mason jars will keep those pesky loose items in a designated area, easy to locate and grab when needed. Basically, this tool is for small and loose stationery items. Try to limit yourself to about 3 jars, unless you have a safe way to stack or store them. If you have more items than what can fit and be sorted into 3 jars, a desk caddy will be a much better tool for you.
